Characteristics of a novel lightweight concrete

The growing need to reduce dead weight of structural elements allow long spanning structures, has always been a key driver in the construction industry's quest finding materials that can lead such accomplishments. This paper is concerned with investigating mechanical properties novel lightweight cementitious material made from mix sand, cement, water, and admixture. It environmentally friendly, requiring less cement consumption, self-leveling, free flowing potential for use construction. A rigorous experimental testing programme carried determine material. Two sets mixes target densities 1810 1600 kg/m3 were prepared tested. results showed admixture improved as its compressive flexural strengths. be utilized member since it gained strength values above 20 MPa after 28 days.
